After only his first hour training with his new team, Liverpool, former Arsenal winger, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came out with high praise for the team, talking about all the togetherness in the squad and why the players would love to play for the manager, Jurgen Klopp.
His crooning may have irked a number of persons but one person making his mind known about it is Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.
“He (Chamberlain) can see players love to play for him (Klopp), there’s a love, a togetherness. I’m thinking ‘are you telling us what you didn’t have at Arsenal?’ Are you looking for something else? Which one is it? In a one-hour training session with Klopp he’s saying that. Are you saying you didn’t have that at Arsenal?” Arsenal’s all-time leading goal scorer asked.
“You talk about the manager, he’s great, amazing. You talk about the stuff you didn’t have at Arsenal, apparently. You have to also bring something to the table,” Henry continued, insisting to know if Oxlade-Chamberlain felt unappreciated at Arsenal before dropping the bombshell.
“I’ve been watching him for a very long time and I still don’t know what he’s good at.”
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left Arsenal for Liverpool for a fee reported to be around 35 Million Pounds. While he had insisted he wants a chance to play in the center of midfield, he faces stiff competition in Liverpool’s already saturated midfield.
