Ronaldo Not Worthy Of The Ballon D’Or – Felipe Luis

Felipe Luis has poured fuel on a raging fire by suggesting that Cristiano Ronaldo is not worthy of winning the Ballon d’Or again this year.
Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo has claimed the individual prize on four occasions previously, including in 2016, and is generally expected to lift the coveted gong once again after helping Los Blancos to the Champions League and Spanish titles in 2016-17.

But Brazilian left-back Felipe Luis has believes there are more consistent candidates than the Portuguese, who was awarded the best player in Europe award for a second consecutive year in August, Goal writes.
“The Ballon d’Or is a subjective matter,” Luis told Panenka. “Cristiano hasn’t done anything until the last two months.”
Luis sparked more controversy by showering praise on Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, even if he wouldn’t be asking for his shirt anytime soon.
“I admire Messi, he’s never complained to me in any game we played but I’ve also never asked him for his Jersey and never would. I came to win, not to say I played against Messi,” he said.
Filipe’s Atletico Madrid team-mate Antoine Griezmann came third in the 2016 edition, placing behind the Portuguese and the Argentine.
Ronaldo and his bête noire Messi are expected to go head-to-head for football’s top honour once again when the shortlist is announced later this year.
